Gregory Jungco

Gregory Jungco

 

Gregory began dancing & training at the age of twelve at Pulse Dance Centre in Port Coquitlam. While studying genres such as Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre, he also danced and performed competitively at many local, national, and international competitions and venues. He was apart of Canada’s National Dance Team in 2014 and travelled out to Poland competing under the Ballet, Jazz, and Modern Divisions, and was also apart of the TELUS Youth Mentor Project in 2017. Nearing the end of his studio life, he was also named the Provincial Winner in the Senior Modern Division at the 2018 BC Provincial Performing Arts Festival. Greg is truly thankful for all the support from his dance teachers, friends, and family, and is very elated and content to continue his journey this season with Lamondance.

 
Keira Douet

Keira Douet

Keira began dancing at the age of 2 in Vancouver, BC. She was thankful to be apart of a competitive company at Pulse Dance Centre and trained in genres such as ballet, contemporary, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip hop and musical theatre. After graduating in 2018 she joined Lamondance company and is grateful for the knowledge and opportunities her first year of training brought her. She is looking forward to continuing her journey with Lamondance this season.

Alicia Jenkins

Alicia Jenkins

Alicia Jenkins began her dance studies at the age of two in Parksville, BC. After joining the performing arts program at a young age she fell in love with the art of dance. As the passion grew, she auditioned for the pre-professional youth senior dance company, "Helix Dance Theatre”.  In June 2016, Alicia graduated from high school and wanted to take dance further. She then went off to Winnipeg, MB to dive deeper into ballet and contemporary dance in “The Professional Division of The School for Contemporary Dancers”. In April, the year of 2018 is when Alicia was accepted into Lamondance under the Artistic Direction of Davi Rodrigues. As of September 2019, Alicia will be going into year two of Lamondance. Growing up, Jenkins knew she wanted nothing but dance. Alicia is a young, driven dancer who enjoys inspiring and moving not only the audience but her fellow dancers as well. 

 
Jessica Shigetomi

Jessica Shigetomi

Jessie Shigetomi started dancing at the age of 5 with her first class being Ballet. In her high school years she was dancing at The DanceLAB Studios, she received extensive training in many genres, but going into her last year of high school, she grew a bigger curiosity and love for contemporary. After graduating high school she moved to Montreal to study at Concordia University in the Contemporary Dance Program. There she had many choreography and performing opportunities but also got to learn the history behind contemporary and as well as other genres of dance and forms of art. Being in Lamondance season 10 gave her the opportunity to expand and grow in Contemporary and Ballet. It was a privilege to get to learn and collaborate with many choreographers and fellow dancers and she is looking forward to be going into her second season at Lamondance.

 
Hayley Galati

Hayley Galati

Hayley began dancing recreationally at the young age of three. It wasn’t until the age of thirteen when she fully discovered her love and passion for dance and decided to further her training at Pulse Dance Centre. Here, she studied many different genres of dance including ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre, as well as training in ISTD modern and RAD ballet. Hayley has attended numerous local and international dance conventions, competitions, and workshops, performing on many different platforms. Hayley is excited to be back with Lamondance for a second season to continue her training, as well as learn from all of the amazing artists and choreographers.

 


Amy Staples

Amy Staples

Amy was born and raised in Lethbridge, AB. She started her training at Joy’s Dance Factory taught by Joy and Aurielle Ackerman. Amy participated in numerous competitions in both Canada and The United States. She attended the Okanagan Summer Dance Intensive working with Paul Destrooper, Stéphane Léonard, Andrea Bayne and Matthew Cluff in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, Amy joined Ballet Victoria under the direction of Paul Destrooper for two seasons as an aspirant working with Paul Destrooper, Andrea Bayne, Risa Kobayashi, Kathy Lang, Erika Howard and Bethany LeCorre; with Ballet Victoria, Amy performed in eight main stage productions as well as touring across Canada and the United States. Amy is fascinated in the blending of classical and contemporary movement and the possibilities that it offers. Outside of dancing, Amy enjoys being a nanny and playing disc golf. This year Amy completed her 200 hr yoga teacher training. Amy is thrilled to be back for her second season with Lamondance for 2020.

 
Natasha Pavan

Natasha Pavan

Natasha Pavan has been a committed dancer who started her dance career at the age of five years old. Through her dedication to dance, she has trained in all different styles of dance, including jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, acrobatics, modern, ballet, tap, and tumbling. Natasha spent most of her dance career at Pulse Dance Centre, where she now assists dance classes. She has also completed her Advanced 1 ISTD Modern Exam. Natasha is looking forward to continuing her training for her 2nd year at Lamondance for Season 11.

 
Madeleine Martin

Madeleine Martin

Madeleine started dance at the age of two in Surrey, BC. From kindergarten to Grade 12, Madeleine received her classical and modern dance training at Mi-Cher Dance Academy, under the tutelage of Cheryl Gedert, Catherine Potoky and Karrie Hill. Madeleine also participated in the Royal City Youth Ballet’s rendition of the Nutcracker every Christmas for 6 years, and became a lead chorus dancer in her high school’s production of How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. She has also had opportunity to participate in the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Alberta Ballet and RCYB's summer intensives. After graduating high school Madeleine moved to Toronto for 2 years to participate in the Dance Performance Programme with George Brown Dance and Canada’s Ballet Jorgen. With GBC she had the opportunity to work with many talented teachers and choreographers, like Hannah Keil, Louis Laberge-Cote, Suzie Burpee and Derek Sangster. As well as earning herself a spot on the programmes honor role list and a diploma in Dance Performance. Madeleine is super exited to be returning for season 11.

Will Jessup

Will Jessup

Will, grew up in Calgary Alberta and started his dance training at the age of seventeen in a high school dance program. After he graduated he danced with Ember dance company a training company in Calgary. The following summer he attended the Edmonton School of Ballet summer intensive where he received a scholarship to train there for the year. After two years of training in ballet and modern he moved to Vancouver to train with the Source dance company under the direction of Joanne Pesusich. Will is extremely proud to be able to say he will being dancing with Lamondance for its 11th season and looks forward to all of the challenges and growth the season will bring.

Katrina Del Villar

Katrina Del Villar

Katrina began dancing at her local dance studio in Oakville Ontario when she was 2 years old. In her earlier years of training she danced at Balletomane training mainly in RAD under the direction of Elizabeth Ferenc and Kate Kernaghan. In 2013 when Katrina turned 11 she decided to pursue pre-professional education with the Alberta Ballet School, where she began training in the Cecchetti method, working closely with Janet Tait, Graham McKelvie, Sasha Ivanochko, Murray Kilgour, Aram Manukyan, and Artistic Director Ashley McNeil. Before graduating from the school in 2019, Katrina got the opportunity to perform multiple choreographic works by Edmond Stripe, Jean Grand-Maître, Helen Husak, Davida Monk, Graham McKelvie, and Sasha Ivanochko. Katrina is in her first year with Lamondance. She is ecstatic to continue to grow as an artist and further develop her dance education

Ashley Rabinovitch

Ashley Rabinovitch

Ashley began dancing at the age of 4. She danced at Pro Arte Dance and West Vancouver Dance Conservatory. At 13 she was the Ballet Intermediate Representative at the BC Provincials and was awarded the overall winner and continued to be selected as Provincial Representative in both Ballet and Contemporary over the next few years. Ashley has attended different summer intensive programs including The National Ballet School in Toronto, École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec, Joffrey Experience All-Contemporary Intensive NYC and Complexions Contemporary Ballet in LA. In November 2017, Ashley competed at the World Showdance Championships in Germany with Team Canada and was selected as the senior soloist for Canada West. Ashley has completed all her RAD and ISTD exams being awarded Distinction. 

Ashley is very excited for the next chapter in her life and is looking forward to dancing with Lamondance and continuing to grow as a dancer.

Sasha Pinder

Sasha Pinder

Sasha has been dancing since she was 3 years old and started to dance competitively at the age of 11. She recently graduated from Defy Gravity Dance Centre, where she trained in their pre-professional dance program. Here she studied many genres of dance, including ballet, contemporary, jazz, lyrical, modern, acro, and tap. While dancing with a highly competitive group, she also competed as a soloist. Over the years she has earned herself special awards, scholarships, highest scoring solo awards, and top ten placements. Her love and passion for dance grew when introduced to contemporary dance at the age of 14, and it was then that she began to realize she wanted to become a professional dancer. Sasha is excited and honoured to be dancing with Lamondance season 11 and is looking forward to the next 2 years.

Isla Spotswood

Isla Spotswood

Originally from Pretoria, South Africa, at the age of 5 Isla’s family moved to Calgary, Canada. Before starting dance at 11, Isla competed and trained as an elite gymnast. In her earlier years she danced at Counterpoint Dance Academy Marda Loop under direction of Shannon Hearn and began training in Cecchetti method with Wendy Wright at Wright Studio. Graduating in 2019, Isla completed her professional training at Alberta Ballet School where she trained closely with Aram Manukyan, Graham McKelvie, Sasha Ivanochko and Artistic Director Ashley McNiel. During her time at the school she had the honour of working with and performing choreography by Edmund Stripe, Davida Monk, Jean Grand-Maître, Helen Husak, Sasha Ivanochko and Graham McKelvie. This is Isla’s first season with Lamondance. She is thrilled to continue her dance education and further develop herself as an artist.


Summer Sturm

Summer Sturm

Summer began dancing at age three and has recently trained at a pre-professional program Motives Dance Company in Edmonton, Alberta where she worked closely with Brett Bowser, Kylee Hart and Leah Patterson. Growing up, she has trained in many genres such as ballet, contemporary, musical theatre and acro. At age 8, she began competing at a competitive level and loved it ever since. Summer has trained in New York City, Paris France and Bucharest Romania over many years of her training. In 2017, Summer attended the Bucharest Dance Festival and received an invitation to perform at the Gala event where 25 out of 600 numbers were showcased as well as a dance scholarship to be part of a workshop in Italy. She is also a certified Acrobatic Arts instructor and continues to share her passion for acro. Summer is thrilled to develop her artistry this season at Lamondance.

Isabelle Dina

Isabelle Dina

Isabelle began dancing at the age of three, where she attended Flora Pigeau Dance Academy (now known as Central Dance Academy). Throughout the years she continued her studies at Mcbride School of Dancing, Goh Ballet Academy and Central Dance Academy. Isabelle was always a passionate performer but fell in love with contemporary dance at the age of twelve. By the time she was in high school, she knew that she wanted to pursue dance as a career. Isabelle, also being very passionate about school, never doubted that she could do both. She decided to pursue both a career in dance as well as an academic career, and she needed to graduate early. She is graduating high school a year months early to get a jump start on her dance career. Isabelle is beyond grateful to have been invited to join Lamondance for season 11. She is eager to learn from such talented choreographers and teachers as well as be able to grow and prosper in the craft of dance.

Cleo Agar

Cleo Agar

Cleo Agar took her first dance class at the age of five and has been in love with the artform ever since. Growing up on Vancouver Island, she trained with Pantuso Dance and worked with dance companies such as True Colors Youth Performing Company, and Eclat Dance. In 2015 she was invited to dance with Ballet Victoria for their senior ballet dance intensive. Her technical training includes numerous dance styles ranging from classical ballet, modern dance, and contemporary. Cleo is currently in her fourth year at Simon Fraser University majoring in contemporary dance and is very eager to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts. Training with SFU has given her many opportunities to create and mount her own dance productions with other artists, as well as work with professional choreographers. Some of these choreographers include, Marla Eist, Joshua Beamish, Chick Snipper, Yossi Berg and Oded Graf Dance Theatre. Cleo is very excited to join Lamon Dance season 11.

Piper French

Piper French

Piper recently graduated from the Alberta Ballet School, which she has been attending for the past two years. Previous to that Piper danced at Howe Sound Dance Academy in her hometown, Squamish BC. This was an excellent starting off point for her dance training, and it was here that she built her foundations in ballet and began to recognize her passion for dance. Deciding that she wanted to further her training, Piper began her journey at the Alberta Ballet School in September 2017. ABS exposed Piper to contemporary dance approaches that had been previously alien to her; Piper’s pursuit soon shifted as she began focusing her attention on a contemporary oriented path.

Piper’s love for both classical and contemporary dance continues to grow, and as she begins her training at Lamondance she hopes to further expand her passion for the art form, and continue to improve her technique.    

Grace Willock

Grace Willock

Grace was born and raised in North Vancouver BC, where she began her dance training at the age of 6 at OneDance Creative Arts Centre. Originally an Irish dancer, Grace took her first ballet class at age 12 and from there continued to expand her training. She has attended the School of Alberta Ballet summer intensive and went on to graduate from the professional training program at ProArte Centre. In 2017, she moved to Toronto to study dance at Ryerson University under the direction of Vicki St. Denys. Grace is delighted to be training with Lamondance and is looking forward to all the challenges and opportunities this season will bring.
