Applicants must be 17 and older with a minimum of intermediate ballet and/or contemporary training and completion of Grade 12 (or the equivalent). They are eligible to apply for an audition for the Lamondance Professional Contemporary Training Program (LPCTP).
Applicants under 19 must have a parent or legal guardian's consent and demonstrate the maturity and technical ability required for the LCPTP Program.
LMD does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, gender, or sexual orientation.
Admission is through a successful audition and interview.
The student is accepted into the Program at the discretion of the artistic director.
All Candidates must submit an audition form available on www.lamondance.com/audition
Complete the Audition application form, including the following documentation:
1 - Student's dance and training history (résumé/CV).
2 - Letter of reference.
3 - Headshot.
For International Students:
1. Documentation Requirements:
Students must maintain a valid passport and an updated study permit.
2. English Language Proficiency:
Students must possess the equivalent to the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Level 1 or higher. Students who have graduated from an English-speaking high school or program are not required to take the language assessment (transcripts required).
3. Credit Recognition:
Lamodance recognizes and considers relevant courses taken at accredited institutions for transfer credit, provided they align with the curriculum and fulfill the required course hours.
4. Accepted Courses:
Below is a list of courses recognized as equivalent to Grade 10, provided they are delivered in English:
Basic English language programs
Pre-Grade 10 English courses
Foundational language classes for non-native speakers
Any accredited institution's English language programs for non-native speakers that include a comprehensive curriculum equivalent to Grade 10 English.
The audition may be done in person or by the submission of a video link that follows standard contemporary/ballet criteria.
Auditions are conducted by the Artistic Director (SEA) and a rehearsal director of the Program.
Acceptance into our programs is ongoing, and auditions (both in-person and by video) will be accepted at any time.
In-Person Audition:
In-person auditions are the best way to be seen and evaluated. Each year, auditions are held in Vancouver, Canada, on three dates:

Audition in person break-down:
Classical Ballet Class
All candidates will take a 1.5-hour audition class in classical ballet to assess physical capacity.
Repertoire
Candidates will learn up to two choreographic phrases from the company's repertoire.
Interview
Some candidates may be requested to interview with the Artistic Director to assess intellectual and emotional capacity.
Video Audition:
Step 1 - Preparing your video material (YouTube or Vimeo)
The material on the audition video should be recent and not exceed 12 minutes long.
Video Auditions should be filmed in a proper dance studio.
Filming should show the dancer's entire body. There should be minimal video editing.
Remember to remove passwords from videos.
The video must include the following:
Verbal self-introduction in English, 1 minute maximum. Use the same name as you will on your Audition Application Form.
Contemporary solo – maximum of 3 minutes: studio footage preferred, but stage footage is accepted within the last 12 months. Preferably, there should be no fancy edits and a full-body shot.
Improvisation – 2-3 continuous minutes: Improvisation without edits - current only, filmed within the past two months.
Ballet Technique – 3 short exercises at the barre, including rond de jambe, frappe and grand battements and four short centre exercises consisting of adagio, pirouettes, petit allegro and grand allegro.
Provide a table of contents identifying names of works and choreographers, improvisations, and/or repertory excerpts.
Remember to double-check all the private links and passwords of your videos.
If the link or password fails to work, your application can not be reviewed.
Step 2 - Preparing your attachments
Make sure to have the following documents to attach to your application; without them, you won't be able to complete your application form:
A Dance Resume.
A Reference letter.
Headshot.
We prefer that all dancers submit their attachments online rather than print them. Our organization is committed to reducing paper waste.

In section 2 of the application form, please share the link to your audition video.

Lamondance Arts Society is an interim-designated with the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.
Before you enrol at a certified private training institution, you should be aware of your rights and responsibilities.
You have the right to be treated fairly and respectfully by the institution.
You have the right to a student enrolment contract that includes the following information:
§ amount of tuition and any additional fee for your program
§ refund policy
§ if your program includes a work experience, the requirements to participate in the work experience and the geographic area where it will be provided
§ whether the program was approved by PTIB or does not require approval.
Make sure you read the contract before signing. The institution must provide you with a signed copy.
You have the right to access the institution’s dispute resolution process and to be protected against retaliation for making a complaint.
You have the right to make a claim to PTIB for a tuition refund if:
§ your institution ceased to hold a certificate before you completed an approved program
§ you were misled about a significant aspect of your approved program.
You must file the claim within one year of completing, being dismissed or withdrawing from your program.

1. Lamondance Arts Society is committed to the prevention of and appropriate response to sexual misconduct.
2. Sexual misconduct refers to a spectrum of non-consensual sexual contact and behaviour including the following:
• sexual assault;
• sexual exploitation;
• sexual harassment;
• stalking;
• indecent exposure;
• voyeurism;
• the distribution of a sexually explicit photograph or video of a person to one or more persons other than the person in the photograph or video without the consent of the person in the photograph or video and with the intent to distress the person in the photograph or video;
• the attempt to commit an act of sexual misconduct; and
• the threat to commit an act of sexual misconduct.
3. A Complaint of sexual misconduct is different than a Report of sexual misconduct. A Complaint is when the victim/survivor discloses or chooses to tell someone at the institution of an incident of sexual misconduct in order to seek support, but may not want to make a formal report to police or the institution. A Report is a formal notification of an incident of sexual misconduct to someone at the institution accompanied by a request for action. A Report does not have to be made by the victim/survivor.
4. A student making a Complaint will be provided with resolution options and, if appropriate, accommodation, and will not be required or pressured to make a Report.
5. The process for making a Complaint about sexual misconduct involving a student is as follows:
A person who has experienced Sexual Violence and Misconduct may choose to disclose
this information to anyone. Anyone who has experienced Sexual Violence and Misconduct is
encouraged to consider the following steps immediately:
▪ Seek help.
▪ Go to a safe place such as a shelter or a trusted friend’s house
and/or call 911
▪ If you are at Lamondance Arts Society’s place of work, contact the Artistic Director and/or the Associate Director andthey can provide assistance.
Consider seeking medical attention from a physician, or a local hospital as soon as possible. The following hospital locations have specialized staff trained to provide Complainant centered and confidential care. Treatment is offered free of charge and a Care Card/BC Services Card is not required. Hospital treatment can be received regardless of intent to file a police report.

Consider options for reporting (see below “The process for making a Report of sexual

6. The process for responding to a Complaint of sexual misconduct involving a student is as follows:
The response to a Complaint can play a critical role in how the Complainant seeks to support and resources. If a Lamondance Arts Society member receives a Complaint, a supportive response includes:
● Listening without judgment;
● Communicating that Sexual Violence and Misconduct is not the fault of
the person who has experienced it;
● Helping the individual to identify and/or access available on-or-off
campus services, including emergency medical care and counseling;
Respecting the individual’s right to choose the services they feel are the
most appropriate, and to decide whether to Report to Lamondance Arts
Society or report to the police;
● Recognizing that disclosing can be traumatic, and an individual’s ability
to recall the events may be limited;
● Making every effort to respect confidentiality and anonymity; and
● Referring to the individual in a manner that is consistent with how they
wish to identify themselves, for example “survivor” or “victim.”
● If a student seeks support (such as counseling, medical attention,
financial) or academic accommodation (such as extensions, missing
class, or other changes to expectations), the Lamondance Arts Society
member should work with the Artistic Director to ensure the student
receives all the necessary accommodations, maintaining confidentiality,
to the extent possible.
If the Artistic Director is absent or named in the report, the Artistic Director will be replaced by the Associate Director.
7. The process for making a Report of sexual misconduct involving a student is as follows:
● A person who has experienced Sexual Violence and Misconduct may
choose to make a formal report requesting a call to action.
● Reports of Sexual Violence and Misconduct should be submitted in
writing to the Artistic Director .
● Please include a specific call to action as well as any relevant information
– name(s), date(s), location(s) – and evidence in your report.
● If the Artistic Director is absent or named in the report, the Artistic
Director will be replaced by the Associate Director .
8. The process for responding to a Report of sexual misconduct involving a student is as follows:
Once a report is submitted, the Artistic Director will initiate an investigation. In complex or sensitive situations, an external investigator might be hired. The Artistic Director/external investigator will conduct the investigation and provide a written report with conclusions.
Investigations will be undertaken promptly and diligently and will be as thorough as necessary given the circumstances of each case. All information received in the course of an investigation will be treated in a confidential manner .Investigations will be fair and impartial, providing both the complainant and the person accused of engaging in sexual
misconduct with equal treatment in evaluating the allegations. An investigation is focused on finding facts and evidence. The investigator will incorporate, where appropriate, any need or a request from the concerned parties for assistance during the investigation process.
If a person(s) named in the report is not satisfied with the determination of the Artistic Director, the person must advise the Artistic Director as soon as possible but within 5 school days of being informed of the determination. The Artistic Director will immediately refer the matter to the Associate Director . The Associate Director will review the matter and, if necessary, may meet with the parties as soon as possible but within 5 school days of receipt of the appeal. The original decision will either be
confirmed or varied by the Associate Director in writing within 5 school days after receipt of the appeal or, if a meeting with the parties occurred, within 5 days of that meeting.
We ask that you keep written accounts of incidents to submit with any
complaints. The School Director will keep a written record of investigations, including the findings and follow-up action taken. If the Artistic Director is absent or named in the complaint, the Artistic Director will be replaced by the Associate Director and the Associate Director will be replaced by a member of the Lamondance Arts Society Board of Directors in section 8 above.
9. In In all instances the institution will:
• Ensure the safety of the victim/survivor.
• As appropriate, provide emergency numbers for on and off campus security (if applicable), law enforcement, medical assistance, mental health services, and other services.
• Respect the right of the individual to choose the services they consider most appropriate.
10. It is contrary to this policy for an institution to retaliate, engage in reprisals or threaten to retaliate in relation to a Complaint or a Report.
11. Any processes undertaken pursuant to this policy will be based on the principles of administrative fairness. All parties involved will be treated with dignity and respect.
12. All information related to a Complaint or Report is confidential and will not be shared without the written consent of the parties, subject to the following exceptions:
• If an individual is at imminent risk of severe or life-threatening self-harm.
• If an individual is at imminent risk of harming another.
• There are reasonable grounds to believe that others in the institutional community may be at significant risk of harm based on the information provided.
• Where reporting is required by law.
• Where it is necessary to ensure procedural fairness in an investigation or other response to a Complaint or Report.
Lamondance Arts Society is an interim-designated by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB). Certified institutions must comply with regulatory requirements, including the requirement to have a Sexual Misconduct policy. This policy governs complaints from students respecting Lamondance Arts Society and any aspect of its operations.
A student who makes or is otherwise involved in a complaint will not be subject to any form of retaliation by the institution at any time.
The process to make a complaint is as follows:
1. When a concern arises, the student should first attempt to address the concern with the individual most directly involved. If the student is not satisfied with the outcome at this level, the student should put their concern in writing and deliver it to the Artistic Director.
2. The Artistic Director will arrange to meet with the student to discuss the concern and desired resolution as soon as possible but within 5 school days of receiving the student’s written concern.
3. Following the meeting with the student, the Artistic Director will conduct whatever enquiries and/or investigations are necessary and appropriate to determine whether the student’s concerns are substantiated in whole or in part. Those enquiries may involve
further discussion(s) with the student either individually or with appropriate Lamondance Arts Society personnel. All communications must be in writing.
4. The necessary enquiries and/or investigations shall be completed and a response provided in writing to all involved as soon as possible but no later than 10 school days following the receipt of the student’s written concerns.
● A) If it is determined that the student’s concerns are not substantiated, the Institution will provide a written explanation of the decision and deny the complaint; or
● B) If it is determined that the student’s concerns are substantiated in whole or in part, the Institution will propose a resolution.
The response must specify that the student will have 5 school days to appeal the decision. A copy of the decision and all supporting materials shall be given to the student, a copy will be placed in the Institution’s Student Conduct File, and the original will be placed in the student file.
5. If the student is not satisfied with the determination of the Artistic Director, the student must advise the Artistic Director as soon as possible but within 5 school days of being informed of the determination. The Artistic Director will immediately refer the matter to the Associate Director of the Institution.
6. The Associate Director will review the matter and if necessary, may meet with the student as soon as possible but within 5 school days of receipt of the student’s appeal.
7. The original decision will either be confirmed or varied by the Associate Director in writing within five school days after receipt of the student’s appeal or, if a meeting with the student occurred, within five days of that meeting. At this point, the Institution’s dispute resolution process will be considered exhausted.
If the Artistic Director is absent or named in the complaint the Artistic Director will be replaced by the Associate Director and the Associate Director will be replaced by a member of the Board of Directors in sections 1 through 7 above.
Lamondance Arts Society authorizes a student who makes a complaint to be represented by an agent or lawyer.
A student dissatisfied with the institution’s final decision may file a claim with the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) (www.privatetraininginstitutions.gov.bc.ca) on the grounds that the institution misled the student regarding a significant aspect of the program. The time limit for filing the claim is one year after the student completes, is dismissed from, or withdraws from the program.

Circumstances when Refund Payable
Before program start date, institution receives a notice of withdrawal (applies to all students)
• No later than seven days after student signed the enrolment contract, and
• Before the program start date.
Amount of Refund: 100% tuition and all related fees, other than application fee. Related fees include: administrative fees, application fees, assessment fees, and fees charged for textbooks or other course materials.
• At least 30 days before the later of:
a) The program start date in the most recent Letter of Acceptance (international students)
b) The program start date in the enrolment contract. Institution may retain up to 10% of tuition, to a maximum of $1,000.
Amount of Refund: Institution must refund fees paid for course materials if not provided to the student.
• More than seven days after the student and institution signed the enrolment contract, and
• Less than 30 days before the later of:
a) The program start date in the most recent Letter of Acceptance (international students)
b) The program start date in the enrolment contract.
Amount of Refund: Institution may retain up to 20% of tuition, to a maximum of $1,300.
Institution must refund fees paid for course materials if not provided to the student.
Circumstances when Refund Payable
After program start date, institution provides a notice of dismissal or receives a notice of withdrawal (applies to all students, except those enrolled in a program delivered solely by distance education)
• After the program start date, and up to and including 10% of instruction hours have been provided.
Amount of Refund: Institution may retain up to 30% of tuition.
Institution must refund fees paid for course materials if not provided to the student.
• After the program start date, and after more than 10%, but before 30% of instruction hours, have been provided.
Amount of Refund: Institution may retain up to 50% of tuition.
Institution must refund fees paid for course materials if not provided to the student.
Circumstances when Refund Payable
Student does not attend program – “no-show” (applies to all students except those enrolled in a program delivered solely by distance education):
• Student does not attend the first 30% of the program.
Amount of Refund: Institution may retain up to 50% of the tuition paid.
Institution must refund fees paid for course materials if not provided to the student.
Circumstances when Refund Payable
Institution receives a refusal of study permit (applies to international students requiring a study permit):
• Before 30% of instruction hours would have been provided, had the student started the program on the later of the following:
a) The program start date in the most recent Letter of Acceptance
b) The program start date in the enrolment contract
• Student has not requested additional Letter(s) of Acceptance.
Amount of Refund: 100% tuition and all related fees, other than application fee.
Circumstances when Refund Payable
After the program start date, student withdraws or is dismissed (applies to students enrolled in a program delivered solely by distance education):
• Student completed up to 30% of the program. Institution may retain up to 30% of the tuition.
Amount of Refund: Institution must refund fees paid for course materials if not provided to the student.
• Student completed more than 30% but less than 50% of the program (based on evaluation provided to student).
Amount of Refund: Institution may retain up to 50% of the tuition.
Institution must refund fees paid for course materials if not provided to the student.
Circumstances when Refund Payable
Student enrolled in a program without having met the admission requirements for the program
• If the student did not misrepresent the student’s knowledge or skills when applying for admission and the registrar orders the institution to refund tuition and fees.
Amount of Refund: 100% tuition and all related fees, including application fees
Circumstances when Refund Payable
Institution does not provide a work experience
• The institution fails to provide the work experience within 30 days of the contract end date, unless the registrar determines the institution was prevented from doing so by circumstances beyond its control.
Amount of Refund: 100% tuition and all related fees, other than application fees
